What was your first experience of printmaking?
As a computer science major, I began taking art classes for fun. I developed a love for drawing and discovered in printmaking a marriage of technical and artistic skill.
What inspires you as an artist?
Art is an alternative method for exploring my thoughts. I've found that I can work out ideas and problems through my artwork in a way that I cannot through talking and writing.
What are you working on at present?
A series of photolithographs entitled 'Silvaticus'.
'Silvaticus I: The Archer', 'Silvaticus II: The Page' and 'Silvaticus III: The Motorist', Photolithography
What is special about printmaking?
Community. The nature of many print processes requires that people work together and that builds relationships.
What is your favourite printmaking process, and why?
I like them all. However, I currently have the greatest facility for lithography, intaglio, and relief.
What prompted you to take part in the International Print Exchange?
Exchanges are one of my favorite parts of printmaking. They're a democratic vehicle that promotes community and are often equally accessible to students and professionals alike.
